Services

Comprehensive Psychiatric Consultation (90 minutes)

This is more than an intake. It’s an extensive, collaborative session designed to help you feel truly heard and understood. We’ll review your mental and physical health history, current concerns, lifestyle, sleep, stressors, and overall well-being to see the full picture of what’s been affecting you. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan that prioritizes holistic recommendations and lifestyle support, and when appropriate, may include medication. Most patients leave this session feeling supported, validated, and hopeful, with a clear starting point for their care.

FAQs

  • What’s the difference between a psychiatrist and a PMHNP?

Psychiatrists are medical doctors (MD/DO) who complete medical school and psychiatry residency. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) are advanced practice registered nurses with graduate-level training in psychiatric diagnosis and treatment. Both can evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe medications (scope varies by state). PMHNPs often emphasize a nursing model that integrates whole-person, relational care alongside evidence-based treatment.

Can I work with you if I already have a therapist?

Yes, absolutely. Many of my patients work with a therapist and see me for medication management, integrative support, or wellness testing. I’m happy to collaborate with your current therapist so your care feels seamless and aligned.

What age groups do you work with?

I currently provide care for adults ages 18- 64

  • Do you take insurance?

Yes- I currently accept Aetna, Cigna, and Optum (CA) through my partner platform, Alma.

All other plans are out of network; patients may self-pay and request a superbill for potential reimbursement.

For more information, visit our Rates & Insurance section.

Will I receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) if I am paying privately?

Yes. All self-pay and out-of-network patients received a Good Faith Estimate outlining the expected cost of care before their appointment.

  • Do you offer therapy?

My visits include brief supportive therapy, CBT-informed tools and solution-focused guidance woven into your psychiatric care. This style of support is helpful for building insight and navigating challenges, but it is not a replacement for ongoing or structured psychotherapy.

If you’re seeking more in-depth or consistent therapy, I’m happy to provide referrals to trusted licensed therapists.

What is the DUTCH test and is it covered by insurance?

The DUTCH Hormone & Adrenal Test is an advanced at-home lab panel that measures key hormone metabolites and cortisol patterns throughout the day. It provides a deeper look at how your body manages stress, energy, mood, and sleep—offering additional insights that are not captured with standard labs.

This specialty test supports a more integrative approach to mental health and overall wellness, helping to identify underlying hormonal or adrenal imbalances that may influence anxiety, depression, fatigue, or mood changes.

The DUTCH test is not covered by insurance and is paid out-of-pocket. The current cost starts at $375, and a separate interpretation visit is scheduled at the standard 25-minute follow-up rate.

Do you offer disability paperwork or emotional support animal letters?

I complete emotional support animal (ESA) letters when clinically appropriate.

I do not complete long-term disability paperwork. Short-term disability requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • How often will I need follow-up appointments?

Follow-up frequency is individualized and depends on your specific needs, treatment goals, and whether you’re starting or adjusting medications. We’ll decide together what schedule feels most supportive for you. During these visits, we’ll also coordinate medication refills and any ongoing treatment updates.

Do you offer telehealth or in-person visits?

Yes — telehealth is available statewide across California. Limited in-person appointments are offered in Sacramento for patients who prefer to be seen in person.

  • Trinity Holistic Psychiatry is not an emergency service. If you’re in crisis, call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
